Resin bound systems involve mixing a specialist UV-stable resin with natural aggregates before laying them. This creates a smooth, glossy and modern appearance and a low-maintenance finish. Resin bound surfaces are also permeable, which means water can run through. This prevents pooling water, flash flooding and the need for additional drainage installations.
When laying a resin bond surface, resin is spread across the surface before loose stone is scattered on top. This creates a rougher, more natural appearance that is more like loose gravel. The texture provides good grip; however, resin bond surfaces are not permeable, so suitable drainage systems must be installed. Additionally, stones can become loose over time.
